  France uses French Guiana as its main space launch site because it is located very close to the equator, which is one of the best places on Earth to launch rockets. The Earth spins fastest at the equator so rockets launched from there get an extra boost from the planet’s rotation. This means they need less fuel to reach orbit and can carry heavier satellites. French Guiana also has a large, relatively safe area where rockets can be launched eastward over the Atlantic Ocean away from populated areas.   Thank you for introducing us to French Guiana. I am so intrigued about Surinam now that I have learned how diverse its population is. This region definitely deserves to be better known. &nbsp;Thank you for taking us there with you and Miss Pats. &nbsp;(Which countries do you think are her favorites so far: the best zoomie spots, the best Miss Pats food tax places, the best accommodations?)
