My sister and her husband tried the same thing on me years ago. Boxes has appeared in my basement. I put them all out for the garbage men. They always seem to assume that if enough of their crap is on your property, it gives them ownership. I have no idea why people do not talk to the true owner about whether they had agreed to them moving in, and not rely on someone else. You cannot guarantee that you are welcome if the owner has never heard of the plan. I would tell Grace that she was NOT inheriting the cottage, that her behaviour has caused that change.
