Ahh the dreaded nes fault. I remember growing up as kid in the 90s my sister got a nes for her birthday and after two years it started not working it also started turning yellow like they all do. If i remember correctly the yellowing of the NES and SNES consoles is caused by a chemical reaction known as oxidation triggered by long term exposure to uv light and heat. The abs plastic they used in the casing contained brominated flame retardants. Which after time turned the case moulding yellow!

Beautiful job. I have all the Nintendo systems except NES and Switch2, whatever Switch2 is supposed to be.

Wow. I'd say another well done on that restoration. But the fact that the NES blinking happened briefly, well, in case you forgot, I'll run it down. NOTE: You did use the correct version of Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt. So, when the system is blinking, it haven't detected the lockout chip, or found the wrong lockout chip since the game is from the wrong region. But in the video, it's the correct game since I can tell the code says UKV so it's not the wrong game. I'd say it's dirty pins. And when you somehow got the system to show a white/grey screen and managed to make the system stop blinking, the system detected the lockout chip, but not the rom that was in the game, so it's touching the pins for the lockout chip, not the rom. I'd say either the 72 pin connector needs cleaning, or the cartridge pins. Oh, and please don't blow into the games. It will cause moisture and contaminants from your breath onto the metal connectors on the pins. You could try and use Isopropyl Alcohol and a cotton bud (Q-Tip) and scrub the cartridge pins with it. Anyway, amazing work you done. Congratulations.

The Yellow Plastic will come back again since it happens over chemical degradation from the air.
