I lived in San Diego in the 90s and they used to have to go to Arizona to ship sand in to keep mission Beach with any sand at all Pacific Beach was only just doing slightly better than mission Beach. I also rented a place in Ocean Beach sunset cliffs right on the ocean during 94 when the big El nino hit. What little sand we had in these two little beaches was gone and just gray rock pebbles left behind.

Geographically, that was a little strip of land to build on even with the sand buffer. Building those homes stopped the beach from being replenished with sediment. People never learn.

I wouldn't care how rich I was,I would never buy beach front property for no amount of money.The ocean is to close for comfort and you never know how the ocean will be....to scary for me.
