As an owner of the RP-15M, I strongly suggest investigating the issues with Klipsch powered speakers. The internal amps have lots of failures, and if you intend to keep your speakers for many years, buy unpowered speakers and use an external amp. The internal boards are covered with epoxy and goop that make them almost impossible to repair.

I've always been a JBL fan (going back to the early 80's) and my best friend is a die hard Klipsch fan. Both companies have always been winners, but in my opinion JBL has always beat out Klipsch by a slight margin when comparing competing products

For home theater (with a sub) Klipsch all day long.. I use an onkyo rz50 in a 5.2.4 setup and the sound stage is perfect... If you are looking for speakers don't need a shit ton of power to be linear. klipsch is the way to go as many would agree... They do sound good with music too but the RP-line is designed for home theatre with a wide soundstage... very little toeing in necessary

I found similar results for the 500M v1. Bought and returned them. The 500Ms sounded like I went to a concert and stood next to the guitar amp. While it was interesting to hear the pick scratch and slides pronouncely, the mids and upper base seemed absent. If you can afford multiple speakers, the Klipsch might be cool to listen to occasionally because of there definitive sound. But, you may find youself going back to fuller spectrum speakers later. Klipsch may be great in a 4.0 setup with a flatter spectrum speaker.

My own experience with klipsch speakers is that they are revealing of amps and sources, even as they are not neutral.

Thanks for the nice video, AVO. I’d love to spend some time with those JBL. Got to be more plug and play than the Klipsch. Took every trick in the book to dail in my RP-600M II. The juice was worth the squeeze, in the end. But, they are fussy. Sounds like you’d dig a nice leather wrapped pair of SF. I’ll keep an eye for that future video. I got to pick out and run 4 big JBL’s, for a dance club, in college…about 100 yrs ago. 😂They did a fine job. I liked the 4 901’s and two massive subs at a bar gig too. Those were the days. Now…it’s Saturday night. I’ve got an ice cold six-pack of Molson 🇨🇦 and some 54-40 to spin. Catch you on the B-Side.🍻

I got 5.1 sated up in my cinema room with JBL HDI version speakers using marantz cinema 40 as amplifier . Loving every bits, for movies and for music. I blast all the time without any complaints. Thanks JBL

I'm subscribed and like your channel and your reviews a lot.
My only critique here is that you left the speakers side by side during A/B testing. I own the first version of the RP-600m (I'm not a Klipsch fanboy and looking to upgrade) and I used to have a secondary pair of speakers on the inside. As soon as I removed those speakers, my Klipsch opened up and sounded 10x better. Cleaner bass, better midrange, wider soundstage, better imaging, everything! They are very affected by what is around them. As are many speakers of course. Not sure about the JBLs because I have never heard them. But I do not believe you can tell how each of them truly sound while they are physically affecting each other side by side.
Good review though! Keep doing what you do... we're here for it! 👍
