The whole thing where Something Awful stories usually end in unsatisfying endings without any kind of denouement adds an appreciable sense of authenticity to them. I'm sure I've fallen for plenty of fake stories, but there's something intensely believable about a narrative that goes, "Hey some wacky shit is happening in my life. Here's how it's going. I'm not following up because why would I hang around this type of foolishness."

I could see Master Shake saying every single thing that guy said.

I knew a guy who did this. He had a history of leasing a place then finding ways to subdivide the place in a way to get enough roommates to cover his rent.<br>Rule of thumb: never threaten a restraining order against someone for the purpose of ruining their life. Judges tend to frown upon such things.

Fuck I forgot about this one, the reveal of the shitty box in the middle of the room was the funniest thing ever

This is like a frat bro version of the Portland Polycule house. Maybe O should have built a screaming closet.

These threads don&apos;t end dramatically because they&apos;re true and not just some Redditor&apos;s creative writing exercise.

Man, there is no greater hubris than that found in a SomethingAwful story about an ambitious amateur DIY project

Having abrupt thread endings honestly feels more true to life, regardless how real any of this is. Life is full of those abrupt endings, but we like to see a neatly tied up story.

Reminds me of when I rented a room in a house and one of the other tenants dumped a huge kitchen trailer in the side yard. It’s been years and I don’t even think those people live in that house anymore, but the trailer is still there and I can see it on google earth.
