As a gen X. my mother did not let me leave the house until I knew how to cook 2 meals from scratch, basic first aid, and the love of the library (she was a part time librarian) then when I confessed I was not ready for college, BOOM, off to the Air Force to learn to be a cop, college completer in 3 years instead of 4 ...then BOOM, a Milwaukee police officer for 25 years...my Mom and Dad's commitment to my excellence made me the person I am today because they let me Grow.
