According to Flair’s recall of this match, the temperature in the stadium that day was 105 degrees and the mat was hotter than hell (despite the fact that they kept replacing it throughout the show) and fans were getting carried out on stretchers due to dehydration. But even in those conditions, Ric and Kerry went out and put on PWI’s Match of the Year for 1984. That says something about the caliber of performers back then, as well as the dedication of the fans.
