  Is Brussels Airlines still Belgium&apos;s national airline, or is it now simply Lufthansa&apos;s Africa division<br>wearing a Belgian paint scheme?

  Ex cabin crew here from SN: I loved flying for them and had great moments on board, but indeed it’s a small carrier compared to others in the LH group. Everybody knows that Africa is what keeps SN alive, as no other carrier has the knowledge and feeling of Africa, and it’s passengers as SN does.

  Brussels Airlines is indeed Lufthansa’s Africa division. Just look at the route map. Except New York there are almost no other non-African long haul destination. Literally every other long haul destination has to transfer through Frankfurt/Munich. For non-African non-stop long haul Brussels airport is relying on Turkish/Emirates/United/AirCanada/Thai/Singapore.

  Brussels Airlines Really needs A new fleet for their long-haul those A330-300 are already old they need A330neo or 787-9 and medium haul they need A321neos A320neos

  Brussels Airlines has a very strong personality. It doesn’t come from the service on board, which is nonexistent. It definitely comes from the network. But also it comes from how well it represents what Belgium is. You step on a plane and you see that diversity of that society in its crews. I love their lounge in Brussels and the staff there are so attentive. I always wonder how they can create such a beautiful experience of that poor product. To me, none the lease because I used to fly Sabina when I was a kid, this airline has a big place in my heart. I prefer flying them to Lufthansa.

  I recently flew to Westafrica. Airline identification is still SN - the ancient Sabena - the airline I took some decades ago from Berlin-Tempelhof to Morocco.<br><br>I love it !!!

  Brussels Airlines is heading into rough times. It filled in the gap created in the market place when several west African airlines collapsed and also took advantage of the civil aviation ban on several African countries by the EU. ET is now going after the same market, including encircling it via ASKY and Air Congo. The workaround ET developed to start on BN&apos;s flagship Kinshasa - Brussels route to circumvent the EU ban has resulted in 60% reduction in ticket prices. It&apos;s west African operations will be severely tested when ASKY starts flying to Europe.

  Brussels Airlines is just as little a flag carrier as Swissshansa, Italhansa or Austrihansa are. Back then, they also snapped up SWISS for a song. Everything is managed from Frankfurt, there’s no national identity anymore. The brands are just for show, it’s all a charade.

  This is the best Brussels Airlines I&apos;ve seen out there, loved it, well done! The Belgian Icons liveries and the menu in business (incredible variety of beers + Neuhaus pralines e.g.) though still make a point in favor of the flag carrier argument...
