Such a lovely conversation! I love every time she shares Mary Chapman's prayer. And I get a little teary...not so much at the prayer, but at all the little bits of love Amy shares, so many of them I've been delighted to hear over and over again in different conversations she's had with people. She has so much love and wisdom to share, and I'm so grateful she's still doing it!

If Amy Grant was the voice for all "Breaking News", we would all remain calm.

To say how Amy has been part of my journey would take all day. She is the reason I became a singer. I will say I recorded my first music video at 65. I told her as much last week and she was very excited for me. You can view it here on utube under Irene Kelly Johnson the song is I Still Believe. I pray yall are encouraged by it. Is fossils have to keep on walking! ❤😂

I thought my singing in church was over in my seventies. Then a precocious and marvelous woman my daughter’s age became our choir director. It took me two years of listening before I decided to join the choir. And this younger woman found the voice in me I thought I had lost and once again I am singing praises in church and have found wonderful new friends of all ages. My children were raised on Amy Grant’s songs and I became a country fan because the only English station I could find in that Texas border town was Country! Then I found Vince Gill and heard his love for Amy in his songs, like my precious husband feels for me (I was divorced and he was widowed when the Lord threw us together!) And every Christmas I am so privileged to sing Amy’s song, “Breath of Heaven” at church. Thank you and God bless your faithfulness!

I’m a hospice chaplain. Anticipatory grief is real. I learned that years before both my parents died. Remember when that hit song by Mike and the Mechanics, “The Living Years” came out?

It was years before I went to seminary. Years before I was ordained. It was playing on the radio while I was driving home from a record store (remember those?) I had to pull over and cry because that incredible song left me blubbering like a baby, just thinking about what would happen when my father died. Such times are a blessing. I’m glad for Amy and Corrina that they had such a precious discussion. I never did tell my dad about that, but - fortunately - we knew we loved each other.

fantastic interview. There have been so many that Amy has done around this album and I really enjoy this conversation. I too have grown up with her since high school and im now in my mid 50s. I had the honor of interviewing her in college when I was DJing at a Christian radio station and to work with her on three wishes that she mentioned in this conversation. I was a creative director at NBC and asked to be assigned to the series. It was an utter delight to conceptualize and be part of the brand ID team for the series. spending three days in Lamar, Iowa on multiple photo shoots with her and the cast was a memorable mile marker in my life. Grateful for this new album to not only listen to myself, but fully agree that it will reach multiple generations current and in the future. Many powerful messages that are from love, life experience and wisdom framed artfully.

Thank you for sharing this interview with Amy. About 20 yrs ago when I was deciding if I should get licensed as a therapist or go into full time ministry, I prayed and asked the Lord to let me interview Amy if He wanted me to go into ministry. I miraculously found her publicist, how I knew what to look for, I have no idea. I just knew. Long story short, Amy said yes and I was the first person to interview her on a podcast. I still have a copy of it and it makes me laugh every time I think about it. Her saying yes, opened doors for me to interview authors, musicians etc for the last 20 years. Then a few years ago I had a life shift and now I'm coaching. Still using my therapist background, now impacted with my ministry experience and I help those folks hurt in the body of Christ. A few years after that first interview, I requested a second one and she was busy but her press person made a note for me and about 6 months later I received a call from Amy and we talked and did the second interview. That prayer from her mother in law was answered for me that day. She lives what she believes and if I had to sum up Amy with one word it would be kind, and kindness is a fruit of the Spirit that isn't talked about much. God bless you both as you continue to do His work.

Whether it be a bike accident or another unexpected traumatic situation in our lives, we are changed as a result. One thing that happened to me didn't take me to my knees - it took me to the floor and I became acquainted with only an opportunity to look up. Amy's new album and song was a gift as I was moving forward with what remains and letting go of what was. Thank you for the podcast and conversation.
