How does Audioholics only have 211k subscribers. Invest in a publicist... this channel should be over a million by now easy.

Based on my recommendation my son bought some used AR9's many years ago. He was renting a small old house with a typical small living room. He kept complaining that he was not getting the low end I promised him the ARs had. He had plenty of power. I kept telling him the room was just too small for a true low end to be able to develop. Standing waves, reflections, ... Some years later he bought a house with a good sized living room and vaulted ceilings! He no longer complains about the low end!

Great video Gene! I'd love to learn more about SBiR and calibrating multiple subs!

Yes, these types of videos are gold. Suggestions on future topics: look at the common things people struggle with in your consultations, refresh a PEQ tutorial or subwoofer placement tutorial, show tricks in REW, deep dive all-pass filter creation for Minidsp, do additional videos on quality of drivers, cabinet material, and crossovers, maybe build on the preamp video you made with Benchmark, I never knew about any of that. I'd say just stick to the fundamentals and deep dive. Thanks!

LOL I love that you guys called out how overblown the bass is at some audio shows. Rooms like that always leave me scratching my head, because it seems so counter to what the hobby is all about.

Hello Gene, here from Germany. Since a few month ago I watched some of your videos. Some like this here is what I'm looking for. Fundamental knowledge about improvement of loudspeaker performance by understanding how they interact with the room circumstances. I like this video here and got some helpful information about SBIR-effects. These effects I didn't really "know" before. Thanks and I hope for more of these. Greetings Detlef

I have a very small den where my system is placed , need I say I’m having serious low frequency standing wave issues , book shelf speakers is all I can use 6 inch woofers , had to move them out to a near field listening experience added deep 7 inch bass traps and opened my door to next room helped a lot 😂.

How much bass a person might want also depends on how loud they listen. At lower levels, we're less sensitive to bass frequencies. The Equal Loudness Contour is very important to take into account when you're tweaking a system for your own needs. I like boosted bass, but I also I listen between -40dB and -30dB most of the time, and a "loud" movie for me would be around -20dB, so I like a seemingly pretty huge 10-15dB bass boost that starts flat at 350Hz and peaks at the lowest point my room/subwoofer combination allows. If you're not happy with your system, know you have good equipment, and you listen at low to moderate levels exclusively, maybe try to experiment using the sub-400Hz portion of the ELC as a loose guideline.

Hi, Gene. Do you mind sharing your FR graph for your theater? I&apos;d like to see how it all turned out in the new house with the new gear.<br>It would also be great to see how the measurements of the same system differed from house to house. Based on the room.

In my room I&apos;ve got to turn down the volume at the back of the subwoofer. This way I can hear all the speakers a lot better even the Atmos speakers. Although bass is not going to shake the house down it sounds nice

Idea for your team—I think if you make an updated REW video from scratch on how to use and set it up. Like make a video for an ‘newbie’ who knows nothing. And then incorporate this advanced learning in practice, that would be an absolutely killer video. In fact, I would do it in this room and bring the anemic revels back and pair it with some subs and show the before and after or something like that.
