The 705 is the best QRP radio in my opinion. I just wish it weren't so expensive.

I foolishly sold my first 705. I bought another one and love it! Learned my lesson and will never sell it.

Thanks for the video. I agree with you about the 705. I started my home shack with a 7300, and then got a 705 for portable use. I loved the fact that the menu system of both radios was nearly identical. Also splurged for the AH-705 tuner. I hesitated because of the price but I use it all the time - tunes great on nearly every band.

I'm a 7300/705/9700 operator and love that you mentioned the meter screen. I'll usually use the M.Scope function to display the scope and the meters and that's my standard mode of operation of all these radios. All the information you need is right in front of you and it's very slick.

I like this guy. I couldn't have said it any better myself. I have so much fun with my 705, it is awesome transceiver !
I own an Elecraft K4 and a Kenwood TS-890 ( both awesome ) but this is the one I go to for casual use, 2m /440 FM and SSB, HF QRP out in the field and it has an awesome FM Broadcast receiver, an awesome MW AM Broadcast receiver and an excellent longwave receiver !
The spectrum scope and waterfall are fantastic, the audio recorder and the overall performance is excellent. Great job on the video here, thank you !

705 is the radio i refuse to sell - the 7300 &. 9700 went last year, but the 705 does everything i want - digital modes - easy as can be, at home, just wack it on wsjtx, out in the field, tether it to my phone and i'm off. I've had my 705 overheat on me once on a very hot summers day and after almost 3 hours of constant QSO's for POTA, jumping between digital, phone and VHF - my last set of contacts made on 2 meters and well over 50 miles - on 5 watts of power !! If anything I'm adding to this radio, a decent home mount and a small amp when i need it, but its the radio that wont leave me. Yes I have a ubitx as well, its awesome, but I'm going to use it for dedicated WSPR, the 705 is my favourtie radio ever, it cost alot, but its amazing and worth every penny.
