Age of Sigmar is a really good example of high fantasy taken to its extreme, with only a few settings going further. My favorite part is that they created a lot of factions with lots of internal and external conflicts, so they are always interesting to read about and there's lots of huge events going on. Each edition pushes the narrative forward a lot, so it rarely ever gets dull.

Ooh, Pancreas is a fantastic source for WH Fantasy/AoS lore if you're interested in any of that. Basically the Bricky of AoS, if you will, without the simping for muscular women.

I prefer 40K and sci-fi settings but I will Die on the hill that the AoS figures are GWs BEST looking minis.

Thoradin's tales also has a good video on this topic, as well as the Realms themselves.

The Knights Excelsiors are grey armored warriors who will massacre civilians if they don’t think their 110% loyalist. I know a grey knight when I see one.

52:49 Those are called squigs. They're basically hungry, violent basketballs with teeth.

In both 40k and Age of Sigmar, squigs are used similarly: smaller ones being used as ammunition or tools, medium ones used as attack dogs, and larger ones being used as cavalry (and/or a food source).

Boingob, the squig that wanted to eat the Sun, is known as the Father of Squigs, and the goblins now living in Boingob's skull worship Boingob and raise the most aggressive and deadly squigs known to the Greenskins.
