One of my favorite facts and also a tribute to how loyal her servants really were to her is the story of the French ambassador Castelnau. He approached a member of her court and offered them an ongong income as bribes to pass him information and attempt to use any influence they had on her in France's favor. We know this because he wrote in outrage to the French King about his failure, stating that using them as a spy could not work. This is because they said they'd think about it and then came back to him stating that they had actually asked the Queen's advice on the offer and said that she told him she thought it was perfectly acceptable for him to take the money, so he agreed and wanted to know when he could begin recieving it lol

Minnesota, USA. Sep 8, 2026. 11:15 pm. Listening to this story it’s hard to imagine how many people, food, clothes, travel, money etc was involved in one Kingdom. So many poor people could have been helped with so many resources. All this for 1 Queen. Crazy.
