  Hello, <br> <br>I’m contacting you because I’ve watched several of your videos about Saab cars, and you seem to know these vehicles very well. I would really appreciate your opinion on a starting problem that I have not been able to solve. <br> <br>The car is a **2008 Saab 9-3 1.9 TTID 180 hp**. <br> <br>The problem is as follows: <br>the starter motor cranks the engine perfectly normally, but **the engine will not start**. <br> <br>Here is what I have already checked: <br> <br>– the engine cranks normally with the starter motor; <br>– the diesel fuel supply seems to be correct and the fuel pump is working; <br>– with starting fluid / Start Pilot, the engine runs for approximately 1 to 2 seconds and then stops, which makes me think that mechanically the engine is capable of starting; <br>– the DPF has been removed and checked; <br>– the engine ECU has already been replaced and programmed/adapted to the car, but this did not solve the problem; <br>– I use a **Tech2 with GlobalTIS**, as well as a Delphi diagnostic tool. <br> <br>There are also several things that make me suspect a problem involving the **CIM / key / immobiliser system**: <br> <br>– I only have one key; <br>– the car regularly displays the message **“Remote control battery low”**, even with a new battery fitted; <br>– the remote control / central locking no longer works properly; <br>– I am particularly trying to find out whether the CIM is actually recognising the key and whether the start authorisation is being correctly sent to the engine ECU. <br> <br>I am also trying to determine whether the injectors are actually receiving a command while the engine is cranking. <br> <br>So I currently have several possible causes in mind: **CIM or key recognition, immobiliser, crankshaft position sensor / engine RPM signal, start authorisation, or no injector command**. <br> <br>Before buying a second-hand CIM with matching keys, I would like to be sure of the diagnosis. <br> <br>Based on your experience, <b>*what would you check first on this Saab?*</b> <br> <br>More specifically, could you please tell me which values or menus I should check with the Tech2 in order to verify: <br> <br>– whether the key is recognised by the CIM; <br>– whether the immobiliser is allowing the engine to start; <br>– whether the engine ECU is receiving the start authorisation; <br>– whether the engine RPM signal is correctly detected while cranking; <br>– whether the injectors are being commanded; <br>– and, if relevant, what fuel rail pressure should be present during cranking for the engine to start. <br> <br>If you think that a faulty CIM could cause exactly this type of problem — <b>*the starter motor cranks normally but the engine does not start at all*</b> — I would be particularly interested in your opinion. <br> <br>I can also send you photos of the different Tech2 screens and the readings I have recorded, if that would help you with the diagnosis. <br> <br>Thank you in advance for your advice and help. <br> <br>Je peux aussi vous faire une version **un peu plus courte et plus naturelle pour YouTube ou Messenger**, si vous voulez augmenter les chances qu’il lise tout le message.

  Superb tool.<br><br>Also, I SO feel for people who worked at Saab and... well.... breaks my heart to see such talent, devotion, to the brand. &nbsp;But it is after all the people who make this live onward.

  Does enric know about getting the navigation head unit in an earlier car (2008) to set the date and time so my service interval indicator in my standard Sid will work ( 2008 93 with 09 navigation head unit) <br>Thank you
