I have a signed print "To the Rhythm" I bought in 1991 by Larry Poncho Brown. I took it to an art gallery to be reappraised in 2005 they said it was a fake. Yet I bought the print from the Artist himself. Go figure

I love this episode. Lots of things learned regarding the art world. Thank you, Philip and Fiona.

I think that the committee is not willing to admit that they missed a painting by Sisley.

Artist's Process: Sisley often painted outdoors, making his work susceptible to dust and hairs settling in the wet paint. It was common for artists of the era to use animal-hair brushes (such as hog bristle), which are prone to shedding.

I truly believe this is an original Sisley. Sometimes pride obscures the decision making and I wouldn't be so hasty as to declare this a forgery--not just yet.

It seems there may be a hidden conspiracy by French art committees to lean towards not authenticating national treasures legally owned by those outside of France, particularly British and American collectors

No mention of the drastic differences in scale between the known Sisely and the picture under investigation, i.e., the church is smaller and more distant while the foreground changes immensely putting the viewer in the same location with regard to the proximity of the boat yard. Just saying. I love this program. I remember it being on the BBC back home.

All indications point to this artwork being an authentic Sisley. So enjoyable to watch Fiona and Philip follow all paths of proof. The scientific use of latest technology is remarkable.

Are there other "experts," or "committees" not associated with the Sisley Committee, <br>with the credibility and expertise to examine this painting and possibly bring forth an <br>other opinion without bias? Granted this would not be "valid", but is that possible?<br>Experts occasionally make incorrect decisions; this could be one of those.<br><br>Excellent video. Sad for Kim and Chuck. <br>Charming painting which I will not forget.<br>Thank you from Oregon, USA.

the committee screwed up... the Sisley signature was painted on top of WET PAINT. and no one disputed the authenicity of the signature (at least that is not stated in the wrapup at the end). too much evidence to the contrary. committee didn't want to admit to their previous mistake
