Once, during an Eberron game, I actually used the line "It's strange, the sewers have been getting cleaner the last few hundred feet. It's also very quiet, like there are no scavengers or small creatures about." - several failed Perception checks later, the Sorcerer is toast. It was fun. :D

Im going to bait my players, "The dungeon is spotless" then a goblin in a maid outfit comes out and dusts the halls.

fun fact about the oblex, it was created as a product of a Make-A-Wish from a kid called Nolan! He worked with the team during MToF dev for a day. Theres an old dndbeyond post from 2018 on it

12:48 little fun fact: The Oblex was actually designed by Nolan Whale, a young teen who met with D&D designers as part of the Make-a-Wish program (he’s still alive and his cancer is in remission, last I found).

As an archaeologist: Bones are very much organic material because they're made of organic compounds like collagen or simply bone cells. Just like skin, they dissolve overtime as well. The circumstances (things like pH value, temperature of the surroundings, access to oxygen etc.) all contribute massively to its preservation potential, just like with skin tissue.
Always a new lesson to be learned in the Pointy Hat comments folks!

Edit: Yes, doing the dishes will cost me my thesis, I got a human familiar to do it for me.

This is wonderful that you push the ooblex so much, as it was created by a kid through the make a wish program who wanted to work at Wizards of the Coast for a day, and then invented the most horrifying creature you can think of! I don't know how the kid is in the now, but i figure its a fantastic, fun, and heartwarming story

I love this, here's my pitch: an entire campaign setting set in what is regarded as the cleanest city in the world. Imagine ancient Rome with its public aquifers and bathhouses. What city is kept clean through its highly advanced network of sewage sanitation and clean water lines that are intentionally home to hundreds of species of slimes. What begins with a low level campaign to protect sewer workers as they work, evolve into learning there is an underground society of oozes that are planning to revolt against the over city

I was seven years old when I learned that a Gelatinous Cube was a formiddable enemy and one should have specific spells in the repertoire to handle them. The next campaign, the DM shot down my brilliant idea to use water-breathing to turn one into an unholy mount. "It's not water." And thus began my quest to create a spell that would allow sludge-breathing instead. And that was in AD&D, when making up a spell required a lot of tolerance from the DM.
