  I always loved the idea of small displacement inline 4 sport bikes due to the sound and more suitable power for roads. So leave it to Kawasaki to actually do it again! When they came out with the ZX4RR, especially in the 40th anniversary colors, I had to buy it and I absolutely love it! Sure it was a bit pricey but it&apos;s definitely worth it to me. Revving it so high without going law-breaking speeds, especially with the quickshifter, really is something special!

  Gotta say Bart, I really appreciate how you dive into the history and technological advancement of motorcycles. In a sea of squids, speed demons, and dad dressers, your enthusiasm for two wheeled motoring is the one kind I can relate to. Keep up the great work and I look forward to your next video.

  250/4 owner here (gsx250s katana, like the gsx1100s, not the faired gsx-f). You missed a point on &quot;why the 250 ?&quot;. In japan, a bike under 250cc doesn&apos;t have to pass the shaken (M.O.T / Tech inspection) and is way lower on taxes than a 400.

  I knew guys who turbocharged a CBR250RR and another group of guys who took two CBR250RRs and made a 500cc V-8 out of them. Both engines got over double the original HP. The turbo version sounded like it was going to explode, but the revs just kept going higher and higher. The V-8 engine sound was just absolutely beautiful.

  Just finished restoring my 1991 Honda CBR250RR mc22 :) put well over 100h into it, rebuilt and fixed many things, now she screams like a dream. And I also know who the neighbourhood Karen is now lmao

  The best of this era was the Aprilia RS250. Pretty much a road legal 2 stroke 250 GP bike. How I wanted one as a teenager, probably just as well I couldn&apos;t afford one. Most didn&apos;t survive, and they go for a fortune now if you can find one. <br><br>One of the reasons all these bikes were so popular in NZ, was until a few years ago we had a graded licence system based on cc&apos;s. So on a learners license you could have up to 250cc. Didn&apos;t matter if it was a gutless gn250 or an RS250. So both high revving fours and crazy 2 strokes were both super popular. Along with 2 stroke dual sports. I had a 97 Honda CRM250AR, which was just a go anywhere on the back wheel hoon bike. It wanted to be a motard before motards were a thing. You could even get a Mugen kit which took it over 50bhp and made it completely unusable off road.

  Do I own a motorcycle? &nbsp;No. &nbsp;Have I ever driven a motorcycle? &nbsp;No. &nbsp;Have I ever ridden on a motorcycle? &nbsp;Once. &nbsp;It was a single cylinder, burnt orange-ish red Honda way back in the late &apos;60&apos;s; we went a whole suburban block. &nbsp;It was a thrill for a little boy and remembered for a lifetime.<br><br>So, why am I subscribed to this channel? &nbsp;It&apos;s the story telling, but story telling that is not so much tied to facts, figures and relating events. &nbsp;The videos here capture the feeling of motorcycles -- not riding on them but riding with them. &nbsp;That little boy caught up in the excitement and smells and vibrations and noise and wind and holding tight my neighbor when he accelerated and braked and turned and drove up then down a couple of piles of dirt by the neighborhood&apos;s water tank.<br><br>Will I ever get a motorcycle? &nbsp;Yes, but hopefully no time soon. &nbsp;Mom says I&apos;m not allowed to have one while she&apos;s still alive. ;-)
