  The counter of &quot;lies&quot; and &quot;malicious lies&quot; reminds me of &quot;fallacy counters&quot; which used to be hip in YouTube atheist circles when I was growing up.<br><br>It looks impressive, until you realize over time that pigeon-holing your opponents&apos; arguments into fallacy buckets isn&apos;t really that hard.

  There’s such a crazy difference between Joe being polite and gentle on his recorded show vs Joe of the livestream making jokes about modern memes and internet culture vs Joe in debates getting super excited

  Mormonism - where everything is true and everything is false, depending on who you talk to, when you talk to them, and whether the thing being true or false makes the LDS church look good or not.

  Mormons (and some protestants), repeatedly avoid answering directly what it is being said they object to and answer why it is wrong. &nbsp; This is simple: &nbsp;copy and paste what Joe or anyone said that was wrong, and answer why it was wrong. &nbsp;Attacking the apologist is both ad hominem and a red herring. &nbsp;One must deal directly with the claim being made and one&apos;s objection to it.

  Reading St. Irenaeus&apos; &quot;Against Heresies&quot; right now, and I couldn&apos;t help thinking &quot;huh... this sounds awfully familiar, reminds me of LDS/Mormonism...&quot; Especially in terms of how fluid and flexible the interpretations are from one group, era, generation, teacher to another. &nbsp;Also the &quot;secret knowledge&quot; aspect of the temple rituals. &nbsp;Not to mention the endless Aeons/gods upon gods, speculative cosmology and mythology. &nbsp;Truly the most enduring heresy.

  Good listening, thanks guys. I think it would be useful to go deeper into the LDS way of thinking and hear Isaac more on this issue. Current discussion is prone to talking past one another, and a deep dive into what arguments would be compelling to LDS would be foundational work for apologetics.
