I grew up in the days of the hymnal. My parents didn't go to church. But my grandfather did. I'd go to church with him on Sunday morning and to prayer meeting on Sunday night. There wasn't a person in the church who could carry a tune. But when the entire congregation sang those hymns, the holy spirit filled the hearts of everyone there.
The praise music at my church today is like listening to a rock concert. There's a full staff of people who monitor the soundboard, the screen, the live internet coverage and the music we sing. For me and the rest of my church members who miss the depth of the hymns, church is missing a major factor in bringing people to Christ.

 For those of us that grew up in the 70s in the 80s when Jerry Falwell on national television took a ride down the waterslide at the Heritage USA site after he stole it from disgraced TV ministers Jim Baker and Tammy Faye Baker. That moment made lots and lots and lots of Americans never want to turn on a TV evangelist again.

 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;
But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
2 Corinthians 4:1-4
A.V.⚔️📖⚔️

 I love this series. I have greatly enjoyed and learned a great deal from this series. However, this particular video really blew it. Here are the events I saw come about that has caused the great difficulties we see today. I am not trying to replace the events mentioned here, but add to and enhance the list we see here. Event 1: The 1966 publication of Radical Theology and the Death of God (Altizer and Hamilton). From this point, we passed from 19th century theological liberalism (Schleiermacher, Rahner, Troeltsch, et al) which emphasized the feelings of religious faith, to a "theology" where all of the essential doctrines (Trinity, Virgin Birth, resurrection of Christ, Atonement) became optional to Christian belief. From that point, belief in Christ was no different than belief in Zeus. Event 2: Some of the consequences of the Purpose Driven Church/megachurch model is that sermons became sales pitches, the Gospel of Christ became a product to be marketed, advertised, bought and sold like any other product, the position of "pastor" stopped being a noble "Calling" and became a career choice along side any other career choice. And pastors correspondingly planned their "ministry career" advancement like anyone else would plan any other career choice rather than making decisions based upon how best they could serve Christ and their community. Along side this, denominations became for profit corporations with career ladders to be climbed like any other corporation. Event 3: 1976 when Jimmy Carter announced he was running for president and included he was a "born again Christian". Prior to this time, bringing one's religious faith into any political contest was considered not only inappropriate, but in very bad taste and even scandalous. Event 4: 1979 when Jerry Falwell and Paul Weyrich met, realizing segregation was no longer a viable political issue, decided to replace it with a--tion as a political issue. Event 5-6: 1980 and 2016 when vast numbers of evangelical Christians set aside every ethical, moral, and theological value they had to support our only divorced presidents (Reagan, T***p). These events (in addition to the ones listed in the video) enhanced, encouraged, incorporated, and protected the corruption, decadence, depravity of political and religious leaders without condition or judgement.

 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
2 Timothy 4:3-4
A.V. ⚔️📖⚔️

 Good talk. These developments are not isolated. They are carefully coordinated by forces behind the scene of the churches. For example Warren's hero is Peter Drucker, a management guru who was not a believer. Peter's mission was to bring social changes in large scale using humanistic methods. He targeted pastors for his cause. And Warren and others were the results.
Bill Hybels was heavily influenced by Robert Schuller in developing the "seeker-sensitive" megachurch model and community-focused outreach strategies, Both Bill and Warren were students of Peter Drucker.
Behind the scene these pastors are harvested for specific purpose to deceive and disrupt the church.

 He does not mention what influenced me the most, and that is the embracing of political action over the red letters of the Bible.
