  TV Ellie was simply too dumb and incompetent to be believable (as a badass) or sympathetic (as a victim), or likeable (since she acted like a spoiled brat).<br>The writers should have seen this. They didn&apos;t.

  The character assassination of Ellie in S2 should be a crime. That’s Lyanna Mormont. She’s supposed to be entering her fire and blood era—angry, ruthless, traumatized, and fueled by revenge! I agree that her tone was way too upbeat after Joel’s death. She should have been absolutely devastated. How are you even laughing? Your father figure was just murdered brutally in front of you. You watched him die. You were traumatized by it. And then suddenly you’re cracking jokes and acting carefree?

  To this day i just can&apos;t understand why people claim Pedro Pascal nails Joel while His performance Is so lack lustered compared to Troy baker who, mind you, only gave him a voice most of the Time

  The biggest sin of the second season is failing to capture Ellie’s journey and not having the balls to go into that level of darkness, pain, despair, sadness, violence and regret. Season 1 Ellie was done right, so it’s hard to understand why they’d stray from the path as hard as they did 😔

  I still am of the opinion that the Bill and Frank episode should have been a stand alone special episode between S1 and S2. It&apos;s amazing, but it feels like a filler episode for the overall season. <br><br>They could&apos;ve used that time way more efficient in fleshing out more important and alive characters and bits of the world.

  I totally agree with you on Bellas performance in season 1. Most of the time I really enjoyed watching her, but in the defining moments that were copied from the game the lack of resemblence is really distracting, because I&apos;m just used to seeing the game version of these scenes so much.

  Small correction: Owen went for Ellie, got shot, Mel tries to stab Ellie but loses the struggle. It&apos;s not in cold blood and not Ellie instigating it. She does kill them, sure, but Mel going for the knife and trying to stab Ellie leaves her with little choice.<br><br>If you want to blame anyone, blame Owen. Ellie just wanted Abby&apos;s location.
