He lost because he was stock picking. You DON’T need anyone to manage your investments for you if you just invest into ETF global equities.

This is why us regular people need to stop voting for people who are so rich they think a Roth IRA is for poor people

High income can still invest in a Roth IRA through backdoor roth

Regardless of whether you need to be "low income" for the Roth IRA, the contribution limit makes it very meaningless. I mean it's better than nothing but $7000 / year even over your lifetime would not move the needle. That said, the conversion to Roth from 401K can be significant and is only limited by how much cash you have to pay the taxes.

    4:45 bad advice!

You don’t need a management company to set it and forget it. You can invest in an S&P 500 index fund such as VOO or SPY. And save yourself the management fees.

I loved Ellen! She is me. I also have a 401k, Roth (I invest 15% for both, get 5% match for both) & an investment account (adding as much as possible). I'm also opened a Roth IRA (still working up to have some money to put towards it). My net worth isn't at the number, I would like it to be. Hopefully in another 5 years it can be better, I'm praying.
