They played a string octet arrangement (four violins, two violas, two cellos) composed by producer George Martin, recorded on April 28, 1966, at EMI Studios in London. Disney's Family Fun magazine labeled "Yellow Submarine" as a family friendly movie back in the 1990's.

I was 8 when this came out and went to see it with my parents. Totally loved it. My dad was art/graphic design college professor. He wanted to see it because of the art work. One big thing is that they used water colors instead of traditional acrylic to paint the cells in many places. It was revolutionary, and because of the transpearancy of water colors, gave it a unique look, as you commented in several places. And remember, they hand painted every cell, and need many cells for every second of film.

A stunning animation about a generation of musicians from WWI through the 60's is American POP. One of my favorite movies.

 I am 65 years old.
I went to the movie theater with my older teenage cousin to see this movie back in 1968. My cousin had every album the Beatles put out. Thank you Amber so much for playing this movie. This is the second time for me to see this movie once at the age of 7 years old in 1968 And the second time at age 65 years old in 2026. Thanks to you!!It did not scare me as a child but seeing it now I realize it wasn't just a kids cartoon but a movie for 1960's hippies to watch after smoking pot. So different watching it now as an old lady. The music is still the best ever. I'm a 60's kid and I loved the Beatles. Amber I wish you could have seen this on the big screen and yes hippies always said all you need is love. The Vietnam war was going on along with the draft. We used to make peace signs with our fingers and say. Make love not war and say Peace to each other. Those were the days!!❤ after this you are no longer baby Beatle. I'm from the 60's and I hearby crown you with a card that says you are full pledge official Beattlemania fan. No longer baby Beatle but fully seasoned Beatles fan. ❤ and expert of their music genre
You earned it Amber. You put in the time 🎉
