Inside every jewel box ballpark is a baseball diamond. 💎 😆

Absolutely love the way different ballparks have such different vibes. As a kid I remember visiting Comerica and being blown away by just walking in to bleachers like that having grown up with the concrete and lines and stadium seating of Skydome.

And that's what makes it perfect! Don't change it

In the other sports fans will follow their team for road games, but only baseball fans will travel just to go to different ballparks regardless of who's playing. (Yes there are exceptions like Lambeau Field ;-)

Until the 90's some Nhl Arena's we're smaller than the standard size. Most notably the Boston Garden, wich allegedly contributed to the aggressive style of the bruins.

That's what gives each ballpark it's 'personality'.

I'd argue there are still 2 Multipurpose still in use. Tropicana and Rogers Center as that was their original design. They have been renovated to be more baseball centric but clearly still have a lot of the multipurpose bones and the donut shape.

Its also what makes Golf and Motorsports so interesting. Each venue is a challenge itself

Good video. Just wanted to say in regards to ice hockey rinks, they actually weren’t completely standardized until relatively recently. Originally, the Boston Bruins had one of the smallest rinks, and thrived on grinding physical gameplay. Montreal had the largest and focused more on skill and speed. This (and location) led to the two teams being one of the most intense rivalries in all of sports.

The home field advantage is only truly realized in baseball.
