We Toured Kim's Shady Hill Garden (One of The Sassy Gardeners' Backyards)

Looking for shade garden ideas and backyard design inspiration that actually work in sandy, tree-covered soil? We hit the road with Heidi from Garden Crossings to tour the backyards of The Sassy Gardeners, starting with Kim's own space, known online as Shady Hill Garden. Kim started with a spot so shady that even grass wouldn't grow, and over the years she's built it into a layered, plant-collector's paradise packed with hostas, hydrangeas, and personal touches everywhere you look. We're walking the whole property with her, from her original hosta beds to a brand-new island planting, a custom-built she shed she calls Queen Bee Cottage, and a memorial garden planted in honor of her brother. This is the first of two garden visits from our trip out to see The Sassy Gardeners. Keep an eye out for our tour of Cheryl's garden coming soon!
