  How appropriate that cartoons of Superman were made by the people who also had brought Popeye to animated life.(Popeye was a superhero in his own way.)

  Man, the animation and art design in these shorts are <i>still</i> stunning and incredible to behold nearly a century later. The use of light and shadow, the effects and attention to detail, the weight and fluidity of movement... superb.

  Nice to see the name Myron Waldman appear on a number of these slides. He used to live near me, and told me many stories about working on Superman, Popeye, Betty Boop, and Gulliver&apos;s Travels. He passed away almost 20 years ago, but he&apos;ll be long remembered.

  The animation looks fantastic. Max Fleischer was a great animator and he definitely deserves recognition for his work on the first Superman cartoon

  I&apos;m 75 years old and these great animated shorts have captivated me since I was a boy of 9! When they were released on DVD I purchased the collection! and believe it or not, I watch them nearly EVERY day! I truly believe Siegel and Shuster fully approved of this version of their creation!

  I first saw these cartoons on black &amp; white TV in the 1950s as a boy. The Los Angeles TV stations KTLA Channel 5 and KTTV Channel 11 would show them in the late weekday afternoons.<br>One thing I discovered in the 1970s when I began a brief career as a film collector on a limited budget, was that these cartoons were re-printed in 16mm black &amp; white Kodak safety film as TV prints in the 1950s in the black &amp; white era, and I didn&apos;t see them in their original vibrant 3-strip Technicolor glory until the mid-1970s when Paramount began releasing them for film art house theaters and film festivals, and then in the mid-1980s they were first released on VHS videotapes, and then on Laserdisc in the early 1990s, and on DVD in the late 1990s. Around 2006 they were first released on Blu-Ray discs. I love them, and like the 1950s TV series &quot;The Adventures of SUPERMAN&quot;, I never get tired of watching them.
