  As a veterinary professional can I explain that dogs with cancer are vulnerable to attack. They give off a smell other dogs can detect. Exactly why dogs are now trained to detect cancer in humans. Unfortunately this leaves them vulnerable to attack as other dogs (especially hunting dogs or high prey drive instinct) will be able to sense an issue as a threat or abnormality.<br>I rescue dogs myself as palliative care and have seen multiple attacks of this nature.<br>It is savage and upsetting but it is not uncommon.<br>Just so you know. ❤<br>Just life and the cycles which happen. ❤

  It irrates me that irresponsible owners let their dogs of their leads, when they probably know all too well, that their dog is reactive towards other dogs.<br>I hope cider isn&apos;t too traumatised by that unwanted experience.

  Irresponsible owner, she should have had her dog on a lead. Hope ciders OK, devastating news, enjoy what time you have together, make precious memories, we lost our gentle giant KAIN. Long haired German shepherd to cancer over a year ago, aged 13,miss him so much. Wishing the 3 of you all the best🤗🙏❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

  Omg this is awful. We absolutely love Scotland and the remoteness of it. We always take our dog every October and love how you can walk for ages and not see anyone. We never let our dog of the lead though, we don’t trust his recall if we bumped into another dog of the lead.
