Stephanie and Derrick are the perfect example of a black cat and golden retriever friendship 😂

Amber is a huge reason why he's behind bars. Without her coming forward, it would have been much harder to convict him.

I'm that sort of person, but eight months pregnant, I wouldn't risk my child's life confronting thieves.

I just realized the nursery set up for Connor had a nautical theme, that is a very disturbing and depressing coincidence.

It blows my mind anyone can hear about the details of this case and say Amber was wrong at any point. She had no clue. Totally played by this guy. As soon as she knew something was wrong, she immediately went to the police, helped them, and went public. She broke down when she said she was praying for Laci’s family. She was genuinely heartbroken and scared out of her mind. This was also before everyone was so active and attached to social media. It was a lot easier to hide a girlfriend from a wife and vice versa.

What sealed it for me was that Scott started storing things in Conners nursery. He knew that he wasn't coming home and had no problem turning it into a storage unit. Disgusting

I totally side with Derrick. Murdering a pregnant woman is a big jump from stealing jewelry.

it really blows my mind that Scott Petreson has been convicted and Casey Anthony is walking free. Stephanie I agree with you, I don't like him, but there is a lot of space for reasonable doubt.

Everyone with life experience knows that the majority of criminals have lines in the sand. Most avoid hurting women and children, especially children.

This series on Laci Peterson is the best you've ever done! I absolutely love the deep dives and am a fan of Stephanie handling the research and Derrick reacting in a way that shows his detective skills. Fantastic job, both of you!

In 2002, texting and calling wasn’t free until after 9pm. We had Nokia and flip phones. I can see why her phone would be in the car and her not caring to get it out.

I really enjoy the podcast, but I just wanted to say that in 2002, there were a lot of people who didn’t take their cellphones everywhere with them.  I don’t think its unreasonable to think Laci would have left the phone in the car and basically used it for emergencies only.  I think Derrick was thinking of it the way we use smartphones now, where we’re very attached to them.  Remember, in 2002, most of us still had to pay per text and only had limited minutes for calling on our cell phones.  :)
