Wow. I have so much to say. In the past 6 years, I lost my sister, brother, daughter and husband all to cancer. Every experience was different. I watched them all take their last breath I do want to share this experience with you and your viewers. When it was clear that my 34 year old daughter wasn't going to make it, my ex-husband and I sat in the hospital and made a vow. We promised our daughter we'd both be there no matter where it was. This is profound because we had a very tumultuous divorce...not speaking for long lengths of time. When our daughter chose hospice to come to the house, He, his, wife, and daughter moved in with us to help our daughter during those last days. His wife cooked for us. Our other children moved in, my sister and nieces came with RV's. Our house was full but peaceful. The fact that we all worked together to make her feel loved and secure was a miracle in itself.

Been through Hospice for a longer process with my mom. They stated up front their purpose was not to get them well their purpose was to keep them comfortable until death.

My grandfather was in the hospital dying and didn’t know his beloved brother from another State had died. Suddenly, he reached out and called his brothers name as if he saw him. I will always believe he did

You’re a lovely couple. ❤ I appreciate your honest open chats here. I’m very sorry for this heartbreaking experience in losing your precious son Markham. We lost our son too. Karsten was 27. He died suddenly unexpectedly of an accidental overdose of prescribed medicines. Our son was Bipolar hence he struggled with addiction since his late teens when his illness took control of his life. Karsten collapsed here at home. We called the ambulance at 5:15-am. It was a Sunday. By that afternoon at 1:51-pm Karsten was gone. 😢 We were devastated. We still are. But life goes on and you have to catch up or get left behind. As we have done in many ways. But that’s okay right now. We’ve hunkered down as a family. Collectively riding the wave of grief left in Karsten’s absence. It will be 2-years coming up in July. It feels like a lifetime and yesterday all at once. Thank-you again for opening up your hearts to let us all in. Much love from Toronto. ❤❤

Being present with a loved one that is leaving this earth feels as if walking together on sacred ground. No words seem to fully describe a beautiful spiritual experience.

There is a world of difference between a non-for-profit hospice and a for-profit hospice. Unfortunately, most people have no access to a non profit hospice.
