I highly recommend getting immediate dentures. Obviously for cosmetic reasons but also for health reasons. First, you don't realize how much of an adjustment it is to look at yourself with no teeth, talking with no teeth you can't prounounce words correctly etc. With these put in right away you can walk around and talk and not worry about your smile or what people think, plus it takes a while for your gums to heal and walking around with no teeth you're going to want your dentures within a couple months and it's not a good idea because they will never fit right if you get them so early, it takes about 6 to 12 months for your gums to fully heal. You want to wait at least 3-6 months before getting your permanent dentures, with temporary dentures you have a set of teeth so you don't mind waiting the extra few months..as far as healing they actually help with "healing" in the sense that they almost act as a bandaid so i was immediately able to drink out of a straw etc without the blood clots getting loose. If you don't smoke they reduce your chances for a dry socket by a lot. I will say that cosmetically it's the best route to go.. it really is an adjustment to getting used to looking at yourself with no teeth, in my case no top teeth, i was horrified, these help a lot.

I just got my full extraction 2 days ago and spent the extra 1300 for immediates and they weren't able to put them in because I had extensive bleeding and swelling so they wouldnt even fit over my gums, and now they told me today it would be best if I just don't wear them, so basically the extra money I spent on them for absolutely no reason, but finally I realized to myself who cares about the aesthetic look even at work or in public, if someone wants to laugh or make jokes just because I am doing what I need to do in order to better my over all Health with no more tooth abscess or tooth infections and daily pain then oh well, 6-9 months without them will not matter once the process is over with and I am able to smile again without being in pain

I work in a busy coffee shop 40 hours a week it took me 4 months to get use to wearing my permanent dentures. Getting my teeth reconstructed has helped me gain so much confidence and faith within myself.

I just got my immediate dentures about 12 hours ago - hence why I found this video. I had rotten teeth, several missing and broken as well. My process was VERY simple. I went in for a consult, they took x-rays (the kind that just spins around your head - didn't have to bite on those plastic "pods"). They decided dentures was the way to go, so they took "impressions". Now, I've made impressions before - the mouth full of play-dough....eww. Not this time. The technician had what looked like an oversize electric tooth brush. She ran it around the inside and outside of my teeth, top and bottom. That was it. I was pretty amazed. Several days later, I was in the chair. Within an hour, all my teeth were gone, and they slid in my immediate dentures. Now, I was under the self understanding that I was going to receive my immediates, and drive STRAIGHT to the steakhouse. Boy was I wrong! Amazingly the top fits quite well. Besides having something "new" on the roof of my mouth (something my toung is INFATUATED with, btw). The bottoms - not so much. Loose is an understatement. I cant swallow without knocking them around. Obviously, I'm frustrated, so that's why I'm look at videos, like yours. Thanks for the positive input, and you've put a glimmer of hope in my glim outlook!

I had 26 teeth pulled on Dec. 19/2025. Had immediates placed and suffered for more than a month. I had an infection that lasted for a month and a half despite religiously cleaning multiple times a day. I couldn’t eat for the first 2 months. Ensure, mashed potatoes, apple sauce and yogurt. I was in misery. Ready to give up and go toothless. Finally the infection cleared out and swelling subsided and I was able to start chewing a little. Now I’m 3 1/2 months in and can eat pretty much what I want, well, minus tough meats and super hard/crunchy stuff. I also haven’t had a toothache in months and never will again!! If your brand new to dentures hang in there I promise it will get better you just have to push through and persevere. I’m still 9 months away from getting my permanent set. I can’t wait. Some people I’ve talked to says they are way better than the immediates.
PS. A nail file can be your best friend to smooth areas that are cutting into your mouth. Just take a minute amount off and it makes all the difference.

I am 36 and just recently had all my remaining teeth pulled.. I had been thinking about and wanting to do it for several years and my parents gave me the gift of a great start by paying for me to have this done. Years of drug use had devastating effects on my teeth.. I don’t think I had one tooth left my mouth at the time I had them pulled that wasn’t rotting or broken. I was in horrible pain… that’s one thing I must say is now I don’t have any pain and that’s a blessing.

I have been having a really difficult time adjusting to my temporary dentures… I hardly wear them because they make me gag to the point I literally can’t leave them in. I need the readjusting and will be doing that this week… watching this and reading the comments made me feel less alone so thank you!

I thought having this done would make me feel so much better because I wouldn’t be ashamed of my teeth anymore but afterwards, just seeing myself without teeth made me so upset. And then my temporary teeth being so hard to adjust too has meant I usually go without them at this point. Luckily my gums are almost completely healed. I am hoping when I get my posts implanted in a little 3 months til get easier.

Thank you I am 60 and will be getting my top teeth pulled very soon. I am scared but excited. My teeth are a mess and just want to feel good and pain free. But I'm scared. You look great by the way. Say a little prayer for me.

Got full dentures at 29 years old on April first 2024 and today feb 7th 2025 I have never ever been happier. I didn’t go the route of implants or any of that so take it from a person who stuck with it and wasn’t blessed with implants and stuff. Dentures are totally fine and I don’t even have my permanent ones yet for another two weeks. It’s the best thing I have ever done and yeah sure wide awake full mouth extractions with only numbing was incredibly traumatic and horrific but no pain and it was over within one hour and it’s been been nothing but positive. I even had the confidence to step up to my dream job and become a deputy sheriff and many other things. Coaches basketball and baseball and just becaeme an entirely new person. Not to mention I can literally eat ANYTHING. Even beef jerky. If you have the option to get dentures. DO it and thank yourself later
