It's hard to remember not to defend myself when the fingers are pointing at me with accusations that have been shared with others, but not once shared with me. Even criminals are allowed to know what they are being accused of. Yet somehow as a parent you can be accused, tried and convicted without ever knowing what you supposedly did wrong.

I did that, stood up for my peace, two years ago. Almost three now. 1 of 4 stuck with us as my health took nosedives. I stopped begging for reconciliation, stopped all communications, which had been one way for a long time. I miss them, their children, more than anything. But I learned I can’t force them to love me back.

When my son told me I neglected him, I didn't go to ALL his baseball games, and I was generally a bad mother, it felt like a hole opened up inside me. I was shocked, because all these years it's been, "I love you Mom; you're the best," etc. He led me to believe we had the perfect mother-son relationship. Then, I found out it was all a lie and my whole life's work was for nothing. That was the worst part. That was about 10 years ago and I still haven't recovered. I thought I was alone in this.

I was always there for my children but during my old age I felt alone and only useful monetarily. <br>I'm starting over at 74 moving 3 states away and looking forward 💖 🤗
