Came out of nowhere to be one of my favorite MCU movies. The depression and loneliness themes resonated way deeper with me than the rest. Made me laugh, made me cry; I think that’s a good movie.

Thunderbolts* is definitely one of my favorite Marvel films. Very much took me by surprise with the darker themes. The city was in danger, but that wasn’t really the point.

There's some hints to Bob's trauma near the beginning. When Walker calls him "Bobby" he gets visibly uncomfortable cause as we find out his abusive dad called him Bobby<br><br>Also the lab fight with Yelena when she starts speaking to the scientist at the beginning of the movie you can see the silhouettes from when Bob was experimented on and The Void came out

First time watching this, I had a flashback to Dr Erskine in the first Captain America film "The serum amplifies everything that is inside, so good becomes great; bad becomes worse. '.... so what does extreme bipolar become? Sentry/Void.

This randomly showed up in my feed and I'm so glad it did, this is now one of my favorite reactions to this movie. I love how much you clocked the lighting choices because it's all intentional to set up that light/dark dynamic long before the Void makes an appearance. Also Yelena is often framed in light especially next to Bob, who's typically framed in darkness - she's the first person to start pulling him out of it, and then the rest of the team follows. As someone who's dealt with depression and suicidal ideation since high school, this movie is probably one of if not the best representation(s) of the experience that I've ever seen in a film. Anyway you've earned yourself a new subscriber 🎉

Without the movie stating it, Bob could be clearly suffering and dealing with a type of Bipolar Disorder. His statements of “extreme highs”, “lows” and “blackouts” are a good indicator. This movie is excellent in speaking about how mental illness can be so isolating and how not being alone is so important. It spoke to me so deeply.
