  I heard somewhere that boating shoes had really great grip and decided to buy some for work (I&apos;m a house framer so I spend about a third of my life on a roof) total game changer, I feel more comfortable laying decking now than I do on the ground.

  If I had to go the rest of my life with 1 type of shoes then these are easily the kind I grab. The versatility is 2nd to none.

  Great video! &nbsp;I’m from a northeastern port town, and many of us wear topsiders all year round. No socks in spring/summer, and then wool socks in the fall and winter. Our Dad’s and Uncles wore them with everything shy of a suit. Paired with a matching braided belt you look squared away in most situations. Your take on these classics is spot on! &nbsp;Love the content.

  I wear mine 12 months a year &nbsp;here in Pennsylvania &nbsp;no socks.. Been wearing these since I was a teenager, I even shoot &nbsp;motocross and supercross photography &nbsp;out on the track in the mud and slop with my boat shoes, once you wear them you just get used to them 24/7. I find the sebago last longer for me then the sperry

  I only wear socks with mine if I&apos;m flying. I grew up in Florida in the 70s and 80s going fishing all the time. We all wore boat shoes. I mostly had canvas ones since I was young and growing. Dad and the other adults all had leather.

  Love this type of videos when you talk about the history behind it. I currently own two pairs of boat shoes, love them during summer time, I wear them with no-show socks.

  i MISS Dexter, loved my loafers. &nbsp;bought my last pair in late 2001 had them till about 2011. &nbsp;the insole was worn out and they were showing their age. &nbsp;it was a travesty learning the brand was gone. &nbsp; i&apos;ve heard rumblings about the shoe being reintroduced by cobblers in ME. &nbsp;haven&apos;t heard any updates in a year or more but it would be awesome to see them again!

  South Carolina native here, specifically from downtown Charleston born in the early 70&apos;s &amp; yes growing up in the 80&apos;s &amp; even still today when-ever I go home to visit family, Sperry &amp; Sebago boat shoe&apos;s are on people&apos;s feet all over town. It&apos;s like the signature shoe of the city for everyone regardless of ethnicity. It&apos;s crazy because I was not really a fan of them until I saw a classmate with a pair of Gold Cup Sperry Top Siders on in Junior High along with another popular brand of clothing a lot of Carolinians wear called Duck Head. I remember asking for a pair for Christmas back then BUT I guess they were too pricey &amp; mom said no BUT as soon as I was grown &amp; on my own, I remember the first time I bought myself a pair of Sperry Gold Cup Top Siders while on assignment in Savannah Georgia, I actually bought 2 pairs that day, still have one of them. I&apos;ve been a huge fan of Sperry boat shoes for over 30 years now &amp; I have probably as many pairs of them as these sneakerhead people have Jordan&apos;s. Where I am going &amp; what I am doing that day is how I make the decision as to whether or not to wear socks, they are some of the best shoes I have ever owned &amp; i&apos;m gonna have it in my will to have a pair of Top Siders on my feet when I am gone....

  Great video! I appreciate the way you bring out the history in your videos. I didn&apos;t embrace the preppy aesthetic back in the 80s, but I bought my first ever pair of Sperry Top Siders last summer and they are becoming one my my go-to shoes for causal, pool/beach wear. Straighten out your boy Aaron! Seriously, y&apos;all should do a meet up in Atlanta and maybe even bring in Jeff the Style OG.
