Kenyan fundis honestly are so amazing. It’s unfortunate that custom made furniture is not a thing in the west cause you can have amazing life long unique furniture for affordable prices

I spent one year in Kilimani and came back to the US with every lesson I learned. This time when I go back, I will never make the same mistakes I did before or waste Pesa like I burned before. This time I will be able to stay long term living like a local instead of a Westerner.

Family guided me to the fundis also. Eye opener!

Also, not eating out at fancy restaurants and eating locally saved money and shopping vegetables at local mamma mboga markets instead of Naivas

Love the content! I agree, I’d rather buy/spend money with the locals than the big ticket overpriced imported goods! In this case the quality looks better anyway! Plus.. the money stays in the community too, so everybody wins!

Nairobi a welcoming place for those of us living in the west. Extra props for contributing to the local craftsmen, as I always liked going to the fundis first for home furniture, repairs, etc. If you go to Eastleigh or Ngara you'll get even better prices, and you can negotiate down. I would recommend any person with melanin living in the West to follow Weyni's footsteps and go to Kenya provided you have an online business or work remotely. Bring your hard currency to the continent and it will go a lot further and at the same time help the economy!
