  Ariel is fantastic. Will say the 'problem' to remember with Waze is that it takes a cadre of real-time 'volunteers' to populate where the threats are. The more people participating the better accuracy of the info you see. I got stung by CHP a couple years back on the 15 between Vegas & San Bernardino.... zero Waze threats listed & my R8 didn't alert that I'd been targeted by the cop.

  One important area that I was glad to see they spoke of, both LIDAR and Radar rules and training (NHTSA) require the officer to visually estimate your speed first then confirm with the device.  This is Tracking History.  It is not see the high speed on the device then look around for the target.  IRW, that isn't what happens most of the time- but while incorrect and not the guideline/standard- it is what it is.  As always- let someone else be the rabbit.

  Love Vortex.  To those that need a Simple answer.  Use a radar sensor, jammer, Waze.  With laser, you’re nailed.  🎉

  Another great guest and interview! I watched a number of youtube vids from Vortex and used that info to buy my Uniden R8..<br><br>My pull-over story: have a friend that had never been in a Porsche and once she was in I wanted to learn how comfortable she was with speed going through turns (not too much) - she said that she&apos;d also never been over XX MPH. So took it easy in the canyon turns and then let it rip getting on the fwy. Only was going 2 exits down and she says &quot;there&apos;s a cop!&quot; at the exit in between and yep, they roll. Pull off and into a shopping center parking lot giving the officer room behind me and roll my window down. I said good afternoon to the officer as she walked up to the car.<br><br>She immediately said: I&apos;m not giving you a ticket, I didn&apos;t get my gun on you but know you were passing cars doing 80 - I figured you&apos;re someone who just got a new toy and was trying it out. We ended up have a pleasant conversation about my Cayman and her new cruiser and about people (mostly kids) that were rude and earned their ticket.<br><br>It can pay to be nice and respectful to the officer!

  Great guest! Hey Vortex! &nbsp;This guy knows radar detector&apos;s &nbsp;perhaps even more than the manufacturers actually tell you. &nbsp;Mike Valentine passed away a year ago and was hoping Vortex would join them.

  Been driving 911’s for nearly 40 years, haven’t gotten a ticket yet. <br>I don’t speed in cities, and always use a detector.

  Thank you for another great episode! Vortex is the bomb. <br><br>The only time I got a ticket in recent years was when I had just picked up my 930 from the shop. I didn’t have my radar (V1G2) in the car because I left it at home in my other vehicle. As I was driving home on a 2 lane country road, the cop coming toward me was running continuous radar. He turned his lights on as he approached and flipped a hard U-turn. I immediately pulled over, turned the car off, rolled down the windows, put my hands on the steering wheel, and was completely professional and deferential when he arrived. I wondered if he might go easy on me. I was wrong. Nice guy, but he didn’t budge. <br><br>Never leaving that radar at home again.

  Love your podcast! &nbsp;Ariel is another great guest. &nbsp;I live in PA and really enjoy driving my Porsche on the endless country back roads we have here. &nbsp;In the back of my mind, I have always been a little worried about rounding a bend and getting shot with radar. &nbsp;I was deep dive researching radar detectors and came across some interesting information about PA. &nbsp;Apparently, the law says only State Police can use a radar or laser device to measure speed in PA. &nbsp;Local and municipal police can only use timing devices (i.e. time travelled between 2 points). &nbsp;So a radar detector is only useful on state roads/highways and useless on secondary roads. &nbsp;PA is the only state in the country like this. &nbsp;Who knew!
