the colour palette change made it go from mobile slop to like monument valley minimalism that's actually so crazy how the colours changed the feel of the game so much.

as a game dev at first I was not sold about this fishing mechanic, but, after seeing how u scale the upgrade with fishrod with 20 strings at once, something clicked in my head

Dude.. What an outstanding display of game dev skill and progression. I love every minute of this very long video.. I was just going to see what the video was about, and I ended up staying for the whole ride.
Such a nice and playful vibe, that it just put me in a very good mood, and I want to make my own incremental game now. This was SO inspiring to me, and you presented it in such a simple way that made it look easy to make games 🙂👍

I want to be like you! ❤️

Looks awesome Thomas! Been following your projects for a little while now and this is looking by far the most promising. Amazing work.

One fun unsolicited idea would be to add seashells/other washed up items that you could collect while on the beach, similar to how the berry bush works.

I'm glad you didn't give up on this project!

Even though I like The Game About Feeding a Black Hole, I feel you're being a bit too inspired by it. It just has a different vibe from this game. It's more of addictive "numbers go up" feel while this one seems more like it should have a relaxing, chill progression where you grow your island as you progress. Personally, I think you should lean more into that.

That's why I don't really like the idea of abandoning your island and progressing to the next one via boat. I want to see fishermen thrive and my island grow!

Also, the tiki wall was a bit off but maybe the tiki fish house instead of a barrel could be a good middle ground. Then those little fishermen could be little coconut guys (like Kakamora from Moana 2).

Anyways, that just my two cents, keep up the good work!

I love how you’re just trying things out and having fun just focusing on what you think is silly or enjoyable and not what you think will retain people the longest
