This is incredibly helpful. I'm currently on a low dose of an SSRI and am slowly weaning off a benzo -- reducing it by 0.05 mg every month. I haven't had any major problems with the dose reduction, which has been a relief. I've been using a mind-body approach -- accepting my symptoms as part of the body's normal stress response and in no way harmful -- for a couple of months now and have found it very challenging but very effective. Facing our fears is one of the hardest things any of us will ever do, but by letting symptoms come without fighting them, I've found they no longer bother me nearly as much as they used to. This approach has been life-changing for me. I honestly thought my anxiety would never go away, but the improvement I've experienced is undeniable. I'm so grateful that I decided to take this approach.

I love this sharp mind strong opinionated woman really much, such a person is made by experience and not just by academia and institutional work, such a person learned to stood alone and have a good word and nonconforming attitude, though it's much more difficult to have in science than in politics and social issues, since you could be questioned for every word you say ... I've been in her same situation since I was 13 and now I'm 26 yo, I'm so happy to see someone who is really similar to me and standing there and having their word, it feels personal to me... and even her videos seem to help me, just found them one week ago, I'm hoping for sth :) big love Maggie

Ssri protracted with
withdrawal for 2+ years kept me in highly sensitized state esp in the beginning and slows desensitization but is getting better

I believe in the Mind Body thing. But I cannot imagine relying on it when tapering off my SSRI, that is a hell I can’t even think of being in again.

I came across your channel and Soft Regulation program last December and I'm SO THANKFUL. I have been going through post-acute withdrawal from a 25-year-long daily alcohol habit for just over a year. I knew nothing about PAWS at the beginning and seriously thought I was losing my mind. This was on top of 50 years of CPTSD, dysregulation, and sensitization, and I was just white-knuckling through it. A few months in I learned about PAWS from a counselor, so understanding that eased my mind but didn't give me a way to cope. I had been through the worst of it I think, when I had a relapse, and so I started from scratch again in October last year with intense symptoms. Once I learned about this work, I NEVER considered waiting to try it. Learning this concept and applying the principles has been life-changing for me because for decades I've been trying to control things (thoughts, emotions, sensations) that are impossible to control. You've have shown me, in a way that really clicks, that the one thing I can control is my response. Bless you and keep doing this awesome work!

Celebrating 3 months off Zoloft! On it for 7 years. It numbed me and contributed to my sensitization. I had all the input coming in but couldn’t FEEL any of it while on SSRI. So when I got off, it felt like a back log of shit I had to process.

With this nervous system work, walking in nature and dialing in my nutrition. Honestly, there have been ups and downs but feel like I am on the right path now. I don’t think I have a “chemical imbalance”

I believe a lifetime of trauma, medical trauma and a sensitized NS caused 99% of this faulty wiring causing symptoms, including mental health stuff.

I actually feel like I am HEALING now. Still a ways to go❤This is the way out. Trust the process…I wish more people knew. 🦋

I am currently going through sensitization recovery. I have lost decades trying to figure out how I crawl out of the despair of always being afraid. I’m finally seeing some progress. I was mostly agoraphobic, a prisoner to my own home. Realizing the answer is within me, I don’t have to search for an outside cure any longer. The symptoms of re-introducing myself to the public are horrific, but I just keep telling myself I can do it. Thank you, Maggie!!

I love your videos... I gain something whenever I watch them. I've noticed that, whenever I get sleep after the zero hour insomnia nights in a row, I can become very depressed as I think the anxiety fades a little... It is tough...

Wish I'd known I was dealing with Sjogrens Disease dysautonomnia before benzo rx 3 years ago. I was sensitized long before benzo. It's hard to taper off anything or change anything while so sensitized. Trying to get off opiate medication to. Just thinking about withdrawals makes me spiraling. I had an accidental opiate withdrawal after my last spinal fusion surgery in 2016 that left quite a scar. Medical trauma is so real. I've not yet watched this entire video yet do my comment may be premature. I'm gonna finish watching. Thanks so much. This video is so needed. ❤

Maggie, thank you so much for this post. It is spot on with my current status and it validates how I feel. It's so unfortunate that after so much therapy and medical, this topic was never mentioned. In fact, I feel they upregulated my nervous system even more. My gut told me I had to stop the madness. It's been years now and I will be starting your course. Keep up your awesome and important work! ❤
