  It's kinda crazy to think that modern day commoners have more rights and privileges today than nobles did back in the day. Having your fiance imprisoned for 10 years for being an alleged hypergamist is a veritable nightmare. Pauvre Anne Marie. Je pleure pour elle. 🥀🥺

  The Palais of Luxembourg is now the actual seat of the French senate.<br>It was built by Marie de Médicis who bequeathed it to Gaston d’Orléans. Upon his death it became property of his widow Marguerite de Lorraine and then upon her death to la duchesse de Montpensier.<br>Next to it there is the palace of Petit Luxembourg which is the residence of the head of the senate.<br>The largest part of the garden is open to the public.<br>The whole thing is right in the middle of Paris on the left bank.

  Am I the only one who found it interesting the fact that she was able to inherit the title and the money, being a member of the royal family, but since they had Salic law she would never inherit the crown 👑 maybe there was some grey area on that part
