The accident in the movie is real. Martin Donnelly crashed in 1990 at the Spanish Grand Prix. His Lotus split in two at 260 km/h. He flew 40 meters strapped into his seat, and doctors declared him dead... but a miracle happened... thanks 4 ur reaction :D

"3 second pit stop is insane." The current F1 record is 1.8 seconds.

Everything was perfect in this movie. Hamilton was still with Mercedes, Sainz was still wearing red with Ferrari, and Checo was still Verstappen's teammate.

Many 'die-hard' F1 fans will tell you this movie isn't realistic, but it's basically a greatest hits of F1 drama over the years. Sure they take some liberties here and there, but this movie perfectly captures the spirit, adrenaline and madness of F1.

What i love is that JP caused that contact with Hamilton on purpose. Thats why he checked on Sonny being able to finish the race before taking himself and Hamilton out

Great reaction guys, love this movie! 34:59 That was a real accident. They can use the real footage it in the movie is because the driver that it happened to survived and he gave his permision for it to be used. That driver is Martin Donnelly, and it happened in 1990, it was during practice, and it happened because at the point of maximum load in that turn, his suspension buckled and catapulted the car into the barrier, which split it in half and ejected Donnelly halfway back across the circuit. He nearly died because the force of the impact was so great it caused internal damage and made him swallow his tongue, and it's only the fact that the legendary F1 Doctor Sid Watkins got to him in time that he survived at all. He surprisingly did a test day with Jordan in 1993, but the memory of the crash made him hang up the helmet despite posting respectable times that would have seen him be able to get back into F1.

47:48 Joshua Pierce crash was inspired by a mix of accidents with Grosjean in Bahrain, and an F3 driver, Alex Peroni in Monza.

And yes they did film sections live at race weekends over 2 years, throughout 2023 and 2024. The cars in the movie were actually real-world formula 2 chassis modified to resemble F1 cars by Mercedes AMG. They got special permissions from the FIA between practice sessions to film for about 15 minutes and they were allowed to have the cars at the back for the formation laps at some races. Lewis Hamilton was a producer on the film to make sure the driving aspect was true to life & the production that went into this film from all sides was off the charts. Keep up the good work.

My favorite reaction so far! This is an F1 propaganda that movie worked on me! I saw this movie 5 times in IMAX over the summer and I'm going to my first F1 race this fall in Las Vegas. I've been to a few NASCAR races in my teens and 20s, I'm interested to see how much faster these F1 cars are live. This movie was really good at giving a casual viewer an idea of how an F1 team operates, the tech, and intricacies that goes into dialing in the car for each race.

15:20 the detail that Joshua Pierce couldn't tell what was wrong with the car, but Sonny Hayes did after just 1 lap
