  Good video, Dan! Some additional steps I do: Clean the sealing surface of the oil filter housing on the block, and the oil drain plug, with a clean cloth before re-installing the oil filter or the drain plug. Bump the starter over several times to give the oil pump a head start before full cranking. Take the ground cable off the battery before starting this or any other job on the car. The protective cap should always cover the battery terminal on the alternator, but you never know!

  If you don't have an oil catcher for the filter change then a plastic bag works fine and also protects the adjacent parts from spillage... have fun-great cars.

  Good video, regarding bite point @<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGGhfAchXB4&amp;t=1320">22:00</a> , if its too close to the floor, its easier to &quot;crunch&quot; gears.<br>Also after driving, if you can barely get it into gears without crunching (due to adjustment), it may lead to that you cant get it into reverse after driving for a while and stuff heats up. So then tighting it up a couple of rounds may make it better. (Assuming parts are in working order).

  Thanks a lot for the video! Also it is advisable to check from time to time an air intake hose. It can wear out over time and cause air leaks.

  You can make the copper gasket red hot and allow to cool. That will make it soft so you can use it again.

  Sweet Video! Just purchased my first Volvo 240 recently and its pretty nice condition only 115k miles + &nbsp;NO RUST! &nbsp;This is my second car my first being an 850 so glad a video like this exist as ive really only done an oil change and a valve cover gasket. Any preventive maintenance that you would recommend?
