Yes. I was Protestant. This Ancient Way of Christian worship is much richer and fulfilling.

Please pray that the Lord will reveal His truth to me regarding the Orthodox Church. I am very new inquirer, visiting a parish in my city for two weeks now, but seeking the Lord’s revelation and confirmation I am in the right place ❤

Used to be an iconoclast back in my Protestant days smh, thank God I have renounced that heresy and am now in the true body of Christ aka the Orthodox Church ☦️❤️

Father Josiah's breakdown of venerating icons with lips, heart, and will is so clarifying. It moves the practice from mere ritual to a living expression of love for Christ and His saints, exactly as the Church has always intended. The reminder that the kiss is an exchange (eyes open, not rushed or careless) really struck me. Thank you for helping us approach the holy images with deeper reverence and intentionality. Glory to Jesus Christ ☦️

There is a big difference between worshipping and venerating (to regard with great respect). And when I as an Orthodox Christian venerate a saint I am asking them to pray (intercede) for us/family/me which is no different than asking someone or someone asking you to pray for them.

St. Agatha please pray for us ☦️

Father your blessing 🤲

As a Catechumen, learning how to kiss the icons and why did take me a bit to get use to, and overtime, that awkward moment of kissing the icons went away to truly kiss them as if they are a long distance friend or relative. Thank you for this blessing and Lent has been humbling, please pray for me and my Catechism 🙏

This issue was easier for me to accept strangely enough... I remember kissing a picture of my wonderful grandmother who I was deeply missing when I was 9 years old. If someone thinks that is an act of pagan worship that is a very "interesting" position 😂

Please pray for me. I am in the process with my spiritual father to becoming a catechuman. My spiritual father likes to take it slow and has been gracious to me. My wife isn't there yet, but I am trying to get her more interested with love❤ Holy Theotokos lead my family and me to Holy Sons church ❤

Thank you so much for this reflection. I'm guilty of not honouring the icons as I should. I experience shame and emptiness whenever I think of kissing an icon, and those two feelings always make me think I'd better not kiss it at all than kiss with such a dark disposition. But now I will try to overcome this false shame instead of submitting to it or downplaying its destructiveness. Please pray for me

When I converted, it took a little bit of time to get used to kissing holy relics, icons, etc. The more time I spent in church or in my icon corner the deeper my connection with them has been. If anyone is struggling, I highly suggest starting with just praying and looking reverently. Over time, you will want to be closer and closer to these reflections of Christ's love, and you will WANT to venerate them.
