  Thanks for a great video, quite sentimental for me. My Dad landed in Normandy June 1944 with his  Scammell recovery unit and drove it through Northern Europe supporting the Guards Armoured Division seeing action in many places including Market Garden. Probably,the best video I’ve seen filming the inside of the Scammell on the road. Keep up the great work.

  Watched this with my 98 year old Grandad who drove these, along with AEC Matadors, between 1945 and 1947. Brought back a lot of memories for him. Cheers lads.

  I had to smile when you were doing 10 mph driving up the hill. Circa 1970 I was a passenger in a RAF AEC Matador + drawbar trailer, fully laden with communication equipment travelling from Salisbury Plain to RAF Tangmere. The crawl up hills was less than 10mph, it would have been quicker to get out and walk! Downhill on a dual carriageway we hit the mind blowing 30mph freewheeling!! Keep up the good work lads.

  I used to drive one of those Scammells in the army during the late 1960s/early to mid-1970s. <br>They were essentially a Gun carriage/Gun tender for towing field guns and carrying gun ammunition. <br>No heaters, crap wipers crash gearbox, vague steering (just keep the steering wheel moving side to side and hope for the best). In winter, icy drafts coming from the roof, floor, both sides, front and rear of the cab! &nbsp;Those we great days.
