  My Best Friend at the time, was Angela Thomas .  Angela was a victim of the Santa Rosa Hitchhiker Murderer.  I was only 16 at the time so was Angela.  We hitchhiked every where we went.  The horror of it still effects me to this day at age 66.

  I ran away at 15 and hitchhiked from Atlanta to North Alabama.  Tell me how lucky I am to be alive. It was 1983

  Grabbing a ride from a stranger was never safe. That’s why people stopped. That’s why we have these stories.

  Thank you for taking the time to share these girls story. I was born in the 70s and I feel connected anytime I hear tragedies like this. Prayers for their families and closure

  Thumbing rides was the norm at the time. We did it all &nbsp;the time. Now, and 70, I cringe at how willing we were and trusting. Great show. Ive never heard of this case.

  I live in Santa Rosa, but lived in another part of the Bay Area in the early 1970s. I was 13 in 1972 and my parents told me never to hitchhike and I never did.

  Ive lived in Santa Rosa most of my life, its not as great as people make it out to be. Especially for the price
