  I think this iteration of Superman being a hopeful and optimistic figure standing in the way of a cynical world, especially where the Authority or Elite is concerned, is also a great story in a real world that is getting increasingly cynical with so much wrong happening in this world that we just need the slightest amount of hope to keep going

  I like how James Gunn is gonna skip the backstory stuff. Everyone knows who Superman is, so I’m glad we’re just gonna get straight into the movie.

That&apos;s when Supes goes &quot;Kingdom Come&quot; mode. Lex has set all of this up to paint Superman as the villain fighting other heroes. Now, Superman is fighting a PR battle. Superman wins in the end by just continuing to be selfless.

  The &quot; Giant Energy Orb &quot; at <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rdo3w3ljxPI&amp;t=650">10:50</a> is most likely Solaris the Tyrant Sun. &nbsp;It&apos;s a sentient computer that absorbs stars and tried to turn the sun dark. &nbsp;That could be why the scene is at night, it isn&apos;t night, the sun is dark because of Solaris in order to weaken Superman. &nbsp;Solaris was also a villain in All Star Superman AKA one of the stories Gunn said he was taking inspiration from.

  I&apos;m not a superman fan GENERALLY, but even I acknowledge that Superman SHOULD be the symbol of hope and being better. Hes not a dark hero like batman.<br><br>Seeing how bright and hopeful hes making this new version has me more eager to see this. When you have a superman that always looks to make a better tomorrow and make people WANT to be better, a dark edgier batman to contrast him makes more sense!<br>Also, kudos to Guy FINALLY getting some screen time!
