Pokedex Entries: May The former hero of the Hoenn Region, who met a terrible fate during a great cataclysm. Now restrained in the crushing depths, her partner can only watch on in sorrow, as both are consigned to their fate at the bottom of the frigid, sunless ocean. Roselia May's trusted party member, who saved her from death, at the cost of a fate even worse befalling the both of them. Despite the immense pressure from the ocean above, it seems to be able to sustain itself, though it is unable to break free, both from the weight of the water surrounding it and its own roots, which hold the sea floor in a vice-like grip.

The fact that Roselia only wanted to help her trainer yet accidentally condemned them both to a horrible fate is just sad.

Honestly If this gets a "No More" segment It should be something like May screaming "SAVE ME!" and her singing becoming more panicked instead of Gold's chill anger

Following the story in the description, you should add Kyogre's cry in the end of this song to signify that Kyogre is the cause of this mess and also that it would sound very ominous

Brendan idea: Omega Ruby, Brendan fails to stop Team Magma from unleashing Primal Groudon onto the world. The world is destroyed in a volcanic storm, leaving the earth a scorched mess with all liquid being magma and metal. One by one, Brendan's team succumbed to the scorching heat and the terrain landscape except for two. The only pokemon remaining with Brendan was his Wailord and Macargo. Since Brendan was able to wander around on the surface, his two pokemon kept him alive throughout his journey to stop the heat from its source: Primal Groudon itself. They found the legendary after some wandering, but his remaining team was not ready in the slightest. He could not use wailord due to not carrying a non-water move, so he sent out his Macargo. Before he could give it a single command, it was ruthlessly torn apart by Primal Groudon's Preciple Blades. Brendan would find out later that Macargo was the lucky one, as at least it got to have an end to its suffering. Groudon let out a devastating roar as it unleashed a lava plume. In an attempt to save its trainer, Wailord used Aqua Ring on itself and Brendan. It quickly regretted this, as both itself and Brendan were engulfed in a sea of magma. His body was scorched and burned beyond belief; Nothing could have prepared him for the pain he endured. He tried to grab his pokeball to recall Wailord to stop the aqua ring. Wailord tried to return to its pokeball. They both were in too much pain to bear, they both wanted to simply die already. Brendan didnt have much left besides a barely functioning clump of ash for an arm, but he still did not feel a pokeball. He searched his entire body all he could while flowing in the lava stream, but it was nowhere to be found. He had lost Wailord's pokeball in an endless sea of burning magma. He had lost his only chance to end his suffering. Now he and Wailord were tossed along a sea of magma more violent than even something Kyogre could create. Eventually, they lost eachother. They both had to suffer for an eternity in an endless magma storm, all alone, unable to stop feeling the pain because they would always heal it back.

There's plenty of justification to give May bleeding eyes, as at this pressure, her blood vessels would've burst. The fact they they haven't makes this even more horrifying.

for those wondering: 1. yes there will be another hoenn mix soon-ish 2. i don't know yet if i'll release separate inst/voices 3. a hypno replacement has already been selected

If this ever gets an actual Mod, I can imagine one of May's gimmicks being that she heals a good chunk of her health every now and then thanks to Ingrain

You can really feel May's desolation and hopelessness in her chromatics at <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTvHbgr0-88&t=150">2:30</a>. I feel like she's not even trying to be saved anymore, after all there is no world left to be safe in; she's instead afraid of spending eternity in a watery grave she built for herself. Being it a reminder of her failure with her Pokémon, her friends, family and not to mention absolutely everyone on earth. It'll be just her and Roselia carrying that burden under the evergrowing ocean's pressure 'till the end of time... Yikes.

I always find it cooler when a non creepy pokemon like Roselia is the scary part of something. Amazing mix!

something about this backstory and concept just hits so much deeper than the original monochrome. the thought of being at the very bottom of a basically endless ocean without being able to drown while also being completely bound by vines is a truly terrifying image. your only option is to live out your life with no one to talk to but your only living pokemon. the song is great tho
75
