I just found out about this video as it randomly popped on my feed.
It's amazing to watch a reaction video to “Hurricanes”! The whole time, I was cringing as I listened to my performance again, while seeing you enjoy some of the most challenging parts of it.
It's suuuch a difficult song, and I scream my lungs out during concerts because there's nowhere I can safely catch my breath (I hope to share a live version soon).

Thank you so much for this reaction video; it really touches me.
I work regularly with Shift Up, the studio behind NIKKE and Stellar Blade. And every time, they give me songs that are very hard to sing, in very different styles.
It’s incredibly fun to adapt to everything, knowing that I’m fundamentally a jazz vocalist and that it’s in our jazz musicians’ blood to want to experiment with everything. My creative hunger is satisfied!

Hurricanes is an absolute banger. Pernelle killed it with the vocals, the arrangement, the guitar solo, the pacing, it's just pefect in every way. It fits the character (Nayuta) like a glove.

That Pernelle song was the main theme of GODDESS FALL, one of Nikke’s biggest anniversary events. It marked a huge turning point in the story that is kind of like Avengers: Infinity War. 3 years, 30+ chapters, big showdown with the main villain that has been hovering in the sky until the very moment she came down. Hurricanes kinda feels like a rallying call to join the fight.

Sing for the Queen by Pernelle I’d say is the mirror of this; as it’s the dark, oppressing theme of the Queen herself who has finally descended to the surface to bring about humanity’s extinction.

I absolutely love Pernelle, she has this way of bending her voice and her words to where you almost don’t understand because of the different cadence and delivery that we don’t normally use. Glad you seem to enjoy her as well! She’s my favorite videogame vocalist.

Many Nikke songs have that signature NieN guitar solo, Cosmogaph’s insane mixing and composing, and pernelle’s almost Nier/Final fantasy/chaos language type voice.

These 2 songs are actually event themes for the characters featured in the said event. For Unbreakable Sphere it's Little Mermaid, who is probably one of the kindest and most pure-hearted. Her song really embodies that very well and its very touching.

For Hurricanes, it's focused on Nayuta, a travelling monk guardian who makes thousands of copies of herself (verily I am a thousand embers but one flame), and the song reflects her personality and manner of speaking while she tries in this event to gather the equivalent of the Avengers to fight a climactic battle.

I think another absolutely great song from Nikke with Pernelle is "Sing for the Queen" another different vibe entirely, but jaw droppingly good!

Cosmograph, who is the main composer/producer for much of Nikke's music, and sound designer too.
NieN, who's another composer and does a lot of the guitar work for the games music.
Pernelle, who has lent her voice to some of the best songs in Nikke. These 3 are such an integral part to Nikke's sound, and i hope they stick around for years to come or can work together on other projects as well.

Oh man Dave, I'm so glad you're reacting to Nikke music again. One of my favorite game OST's out there. Unbreakable Sphere is Siren's theme, she is such a wholesome character and you can really feel it in the song itself. Hurricanes is Nayuta's theme, she's a monk who's lived thousands of lives, and the reference to the butterfly effect when all those lives come together again is so lyrically brilliant. Cosmograph is the GOAT.
