I do volunteer work weekly ( centrelink requires 15 hours a week ) so I do not have to apply for jobs. I get my fortnightly payment, plus I’m helping the community <br>Love it (I’m 66)

Thanks Labor for raising the pension age. It did wonders for us lower income labourers.

What you have wrong is the option you said about older partners reaching pension age when their younger partner is still working. Yes the superannuation strategy is correct BUT the older person will NOT get the Aged Pension if the younger partner is working and receiving a decent wage. That is means tested and they are expected to support the older partner if they earn too much. It’s a disgusting policy. As a female older than my partner suddenly I am expected to be supported by my younger partner when I have worked and supported myself for more than 50 years. I will never feel comfortable relying on another person’s income to support me. Bloody Centrelink should see us all as individuals when we reach 67. Imagine an older woman in a domestic violence situation having to be reliant on a younger male perpetrator being in total control of their finances (if they aren’t already). The policy is a joke!

My super is released when i turn 65. They can kiss my ass for two years if they want me to find a job/work for that time. Super was supposed to be used when you retire.

I had my tiny amount of Super eaten up by banks yrs ago before I found out about it. I'm disabled & terminally ill. Centrelink sent me a notice last yr saying they're cutting off my DSP in 2027. I didn't reply. I'm grateful for that which I've already received. I'm living in a beat up van, waiting to die.
