I know this wasn't your endgame, but you can have a "community" of predator fish as well if you want to play around with keeping different kinds of aggressive fish. I've had salvini, convicts, oscars, and Jack Dempsey housed with jaguars and angels, Texas cichlids, red terrors, and pike cichlids, all in the same tank at the same time. That worked out for 3+ years until the oscar and the Jaguar went to war, and I had to rehome the jaguar to its own 150.

The best advice I can give you is, don't be afraid to try new things, but be sure to have a Plan B in place if things go sideways, and probably a Plan C, too. Heck, maybe even a Plan D and E while you're making plans.

This video would be incredible if you put images of the fish or time stamp when you talk about new fish so I have time to go look it up. Very interested in researching these new fish recommendations! Thank you!!!

Transvestitis as a species name is a reference to the reversal of dimorphism, the female being more colorful than the male

I love rams, both in appearance and personality. The only dwarf cichlid I've kept that would attack my hand when working on the tank. Non aggressive and no fear either.

Electric Blue Acara and Angelfish are probably my 2 favorite fish I own, Followed by Pearl Gouramis and Rose Line Sharks (not in that order or all in same tank just in general)

I love seeing these things interact with their specific tankmates and their environment, there is just a good intelligence you can see in the way they observe you and their environment, I love them. My Electric Blue Acara is named Bluey since it is one of my water puppies ❤

In the late 80s/ early 90s there were NO angels. I don’t remember what the problem was, but none of the local fish stores had any Angel fish.
