It’s sad to hear black people put down Elvis, he was obviously a great friend to the black community.

Elvis grew up in a mostly black neighborhood and in the black church. He did not steal or misappropriate the culture. He grew up in it. It was his culture and his music, too.

Elvis was born in A poor black neighborhood in 1935. So poor they buried his dead twin brother in a shoebox. He went to a black church and had black playmates. His father couldn't find work in Mississippi, so when he was 14, they movies to Memphis. He would sit outside the black music clubs on Beale Street and listen to the music. On musician told him he could come in and listen to BB King. And it began. He hated being called the King, which the media started, Elvis said the only king I know is Jesus Christ. Later he would promote the careers of James Brown and Jackie Wilson. He loved all music from gospel to opera, he won three Grammy s for Gospel he brought Gospel to mainstream. He would be doing a Rock concert and then start singing How Great Thou Art. He also was a generous ps Humanitarian. See"Elvis Presley King Of Kindness". Thanks for reacting to this, Be Blessed

Keep in mind that Elvis grew up dirt poor in the deep south. He attended a black church and had a lot of dealings with black people growing up because all were as financially poor as he was if not more so. His mom loved gospel music and he made his gospel albums for her and because he grew up singing in a choir.
