My father died while i was stationed in hawaii in 2014, he died on halloween morning and my NCOs and chain of command was too busy getting fucked up to get the process going for me to get home for my fathers funeral, not only that when they did get around to it they booked me a connecting flight in chicago that didnt have a seat reserved it was a small plane and had like 50 seats and i was brought up in front of everyone with my wife and son and the lady that worked for delta asks if anyone would give up their seats so i could make it to my dads funeral no one volunteered for about 5 min of sitting there looking around until this young couple did...needless to say it was the single reason i didnt re enlist, ive never been so pissed in my life once i got back to my unit  i was just mentally checked out, the lack of compassion they showed me through that process was unbelievable and went against everything i thought the army was suppose to be about...their night out on halloween night in Honolulu meant more than getting one of their soldiers home for their fathers funeral...keep in mind too its not like it was something i was expecting my dad was 17 when i was born we were super close and it was just so unexpected at the time...RIP dad i miss you buddy

I went to Basic with Theodore Glende. As soon as I heard the date of the attack it clicked that’s who he was talking about. It’s such a small world. Rest in paradise my brother

He was my DS at Jackson in 2016, he was a stud. My dad sent a case of homemade pickles and he tore them up 😂

I was a Drill at Knox, the Privates asked my partner, why I had a blue disc on my hat. He told them it meant that I was a trainee Drill Sergeant and once I was certified I could take off the trainee disc. I was pissed for a second, but I had to admit that was pretty good.

Right at the beginning of the video he mentioned the sexual assault. It just makes me so sad to see that men can’t talk about things like this. He brought it up. He talked about it but he kind of brushed it off like it’s whatever. We need to talk about these things and be vulnerable. Good on you man for even mentioning it, but I just think it needs to go further. We can’t brush it off like it’s whatever something that happened to me. We need to cry and dig deep into how awful it actually was..

My husband was 1-508 in Kandahar 2020/2011 at the ancop. When they got hit, it was the only day the police weren’t out and they knew hit the chow tent, knew where the medic tent was.

It’s very hard listening to others stories, understanding how challenging it is to have lived a similar traumatic childhood. I feel this man’s pain as he tells his story and the pain is evident. I’m very sorry that you have gone through what you did. I get it and I get how difficult this must have been for you. You have overcome some incredible challenges and chosen to break the cycle which says a lot about you. You should be incredibly proud of yourself❤ I’m proud of you ❤
